US SPECIAL COORDINATOR FOR HAITI RESPONSE VISITS WINNER’S FLAGSHIP CENTER

On Friday October 8th the USAID funded project, WINNER, was honored to receive the special visit of the United States Special Coordinator for Haiti Response, Ambassador Thomas C. Adams. Ambassador Adams was received by USAID/WINNER Chief of Party, Mr Jean-Robert Estimé, in our agricultural training and demonstration center in the Cul-de-Sac plain located at Bas Boen.

First, Mr Estimé put the project in context with an illustrative Google earth map of our various interventions in the Cul-de-Sac watershed. This map illustrates our various but integrated activities: agro-forestry, technical assistance, rehabilitation of some key rural infrastructures and delimitation of area supported by WINNER during this year’s agricultural campaigns.

FARMERS EMBRACE SUSTAINABLE MODERNIZATION

As part of the mechanization of agriculture, the WINNER project has made the delivery of nine (9) tractors associations corridors of Matheux and Cul de Sac Plain Tuesday, December 20 at the Center for Rural Sustainable Development ( CRDD) of the Netherlands Boën attended by the Minister of Agriculture, representatives of USAID and private sector members. The donation of the U.S. Government is to offer farmers the opportunity to mechanize their agriculture to achieve better yields and improve their living conditions.At a cost of about U.S. $ 50.000 each, the tractors come with a plow and harrow.
